Cruise Control Dad

As you all know, yesterday was Father’s Day. It started off pretty much a normal sunday. My dad came and attempted to wake me up a couple times than left to go pick up people for church. I relentlessly got out of bed and took my shower. Now I am one of those females that spends at least an hour on their hair before going anywhere. But with such a great lack of sleep, i did NOTHING with my hair. I just got dressed in a nice comfortable sweater and skirt than headed out the door. I slept almost the whole way there, which is even more out of the norm because i cant sleep in the car…usually. We soon arrived at the church. I sat in my normal seat and just stared. You see, people noticed this because i am usually a very perky happy person that goes around and shakes hands. But anyways, everything was pretty normal for the most part but it being Father’s Day the message was directed more to the Fathers, than anyone else. The title of his message was Cruise Control Dad.
Pastor commented on how so many dad’s these days play no role in the family, in fact sometimes they don’t even know what is all going on in there family. And there isn’t just one reason why they don’t know, there are oh so many. 1. They focus more on the career than family. 2. They could have addictions such as to alcohol, drugs, pornography or other things. OR 3. They could be too worried about not being the “cool” dad if they were to butt in on their kids lives. The list goes on. Luckily my dad has never put anything before his family. I love him so much, I dont know what i would do without him. And yesterdays service made me realize this even more, just how LUCKY i am for having such a FANTASTIC dad. :]
Pastor ended the message saying to the Fathers that if you are just sitting back and relaxing, riding on cruise control or auto pilot, you need to #1. Get off cruise control or auto pilot. #2. Get involved with your family, spend some time together. And last but certainly important, you need to #3 Get your family to the house of God everytime you can. And get them involved in Church. Than we ended service by having all of the Dads come to the alter and everyone else pray for them. Following that, we had the families get together and pray. It was a great service and i dont intend on forgetting that message.

The Ultimate Relationship

dear inspiree; Last night my Youth Pastor preached on having a relationship with God. His text came out of the book of Matthew. The text says that you must seek God first, than after that is done, THAT is when God will give you the things you desire for. My Youth Pastor said that it is when you seek God first that your relationship with him begins to grow and prosper. And having a relationship with him will help you to be able to make better choices and decisions. It will help you through hard times with family, friends, your church and in general.
I will admit, right at this very moment I do not believe i have a very strong relationship with God, but I want one. I know i have a connection with him, but i need more. And I am taking action and praying and talking to God more because for a relationship to work, you have to talk. Think of it this way, if you were at work one day and you saw this very attractive male or female in a cubicle across from your’s and he or she turned and said hello and you replied back the same than you just stopped talking to him or her. You might have felt a little connection but would you actually create a relationship out of a few hellos? Probably not. You would have to talk to him or her and get to know him or her, how he or she works, what his or her personality is. Thats the same as GOD! You have to talk to him daily for him to ever really know you. not just 1,2,3 times a week. Daily prayer is vital to having a successful relationship with God.
I am extremely blessed to have a Youth Pastor like I do today and my whole church in general. I love and appreciate them all so so much. I don’t know where i would be today without them all.
On an end note, i hope someone reads this and is inspired to get in touch with God for the first time or maybe get BACK in touch with God. God is great. :]

Dear inspiree; I hope you have had a good day so far, as i have. I have been thinking about this song that I have written earlier this week and i feel like i should share it…more. I wrote it this past monday and I have already played it around 100 times. My family is probably sick of hearing it! lol. But I do feel like maybe someone will enjoy it and give me a review. Believe me, i can take constructive criticism. :]
This song is a Christian song. It is EXACTLY how I feel about God, and its just a ounce of my testimony. I do hope you enjoy it and that it plays a part in your life.

A Little About Me and My Purpose

Dear Inspiree; As I said in my ‘about me’ section, my name is Christina. I am an Apostolic Pentecostal with a love for God. I am 1 in a million girls with a head on their shoulders. I have high standards for myself as well as morals and convictions without the elitist ora. I love my family and friends so much that it seems that i spend every waking hour with both. As well as my church family.I am a small town girl that loves the country but wouldn’t mind to move to a city one day. I am very determined and oppinionated but yet still open minded of other’s oppinions and feelings. I am a people person. I love people because I loves things that are unique and different, and no one is 100% the same…ethically. lol. Anywho, I love the outdoors, wildlife and animals. I was that little girl that would go outside and spend ALL day picking dandelions, climbing trees and chasing rabbits, squirrels and any other animal i saw. Now THAT was the life! No cares, worries or responsibilities; except getting home before dark.

On a final note, the purpose of this blog is to inspire you to do things out of the norm. I am not all that sure what I am going to be lead to post on here. Maybe one day it will be some spiritual encouragement than the next day a link to a website that has really fun games just to get your mind off of all the worries. But the one thing i hope for, is that this blog reaches someone that needs something from God. As long as it reaches ONE person, I will be happy. I know today’s world is dark and gloomy but i pray that i can shine my light of Jesus Christ to someone through this site.
